Friendly Indian Paparazzi

Indian hospitality.  After lunch with a friend from Japan we were surrounded by a large Indian family asking where we were from and if they could take a photo with us.  We were greeted with lots of smiles and very warm hugs from the women and they bought us chai and talked.  Shanti shani.

The nightly "Puja" ceremony (a Hindu ritual of worship) at Parmarth Niketan Ashram on the holy banks of the "Mother Ganga" River. 

Holy Cow

In India, cows are holy.  Here in Rishikesh, there is no meat eating.  It's a holy city.  Dry (alcohol free) and vegetarian.  The cows roam the streets along with pedestrians and the madness of motorbikes and honking cars.  (They do this with more shanti (peace) and calm then the yogis. They also like to be pet.
